Our major project for this rotary year is the Project Heart of Love (PHOL). The objective of this project was to refurbish 20 one-room HDB subsided flats for elderly folks aged 65 years and older. Their flats are old, dirty, infested with pests and worn out furniture. Each flat cost $3000 to refurbish which includes uncluttering the flats of old and dirty furniture, cleaning and painting to give the old folks a clean and healthy environment to live.
The club targets to refurbish 20 homes at a cost of $60,000. To raise the required funds, the club embarked on a fund raising activity by way of a charity film premier. The fund raising movie night was held on 17th December 2016 at the Cathay cinema screening the a premier movie, Rouge I, a Star War Story.
Through the generous support of Rotarians and friends, we managed to sell out all the tickets and saw a full house. Thank you, Rotarians and your friends for your generous support.
